Cucumber Basil Vodka Gimlet

  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ Persian cucumber, seeds removed and sliced
  • 2/3 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2/3 vodka
  • ¼ cup water
  • ice
  • 2 fresh basil sprigs


  1. Place sugar and ½ of the cucumber slices in a large, wide-mouthed glass. Muddle lightly. Add lime juice, stir until sugar dissolves. Pour lime juice mixture through a mesh sieve into a large measuring cup. Stir in vodka, water, and ice. Divide cocktail and remaining cucumber pieces between two glasses with or without additional ice. Garnish with basil and cucumber.
