Mexican Hot Chocolate

Warm indulgence for Dia de Los Muertos.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups milk
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)
  • 4ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped and melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cinnamon sticks, optional

Instructions

  1. Heat milk, sugar, and spices in a pot over medium-high heat until almost simmering. Add chocolate and vanilla, stir until heated through. Garnish with a dash of cinnamon and cinnamon sticks.
